Testimonials

THESE ELECTRIC LIVES (Toronto)
Winners of INDIE WEEK CANADA 2010 We won Indie Week so we obviously had a great time but it was great for us even before we were announced the winner. We were treated well at every showcase (4 in 5 days) and most nights ran really smoothly - which is hard to do at festivals. Most importantly, Indie Week put us in front of 14 established industry judges and most of them have contacted us since Indie Week. As an unsigned band we hoped that Indie Week would help get us more exposure and it delivered that in spades!
WAZU
(Australia / California) This gig turned out to be one of the best things we did this year. The promoters were helpful from the word go. Nothing was an issue and being an international band, they made sure we had some extra shows to make the trip worthwhile. We ended up getting to the finals and making connections with not only industry, but other cool bands which we are currently hooking up shows with in Toronto. Definitely worth giving it a go!
Simon Fagan
(Ireland) The organizers of Indie Week are great and by playing IW Ire, I got invited to perform at IW Toronto. This was a great experience & a very successful trip. Unlike other showcases events, IW try to insure that international acts get to perform each night, giving them more opportunities of being seen/heard. They are very helpful and there are a lot of good contacts to be made. If you're Irish, enter this to increase your chances of going to Canada, if international, you be looked after here!
Last Second Magic
(Ireland) Indie Week was one of the best experiences of our lives. We got to be on BalconyTV, play some gigs in Canada, found artwork for our new EP and got a Canadian manager. Canada rules!
The Murder Plans
(Quebec) An excellent showcase of up and coming indie acts! Really appreciated the afternoon of industry workshops and how the workshop panelests and event organizers went out of their way to make themselves accessable to the bands to answer questions give advice and just hang out and talk!
The Old Crowns
(Ottawa) Thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Indie Week. High fives to all of the dedicated organizers and fellow artists who were involved. Thanks a lot for allowing us to be a part of it all!

Courage My Love
(Toronto) Indie Week Toronto was a totally amazing experience. We met lots of other Indie bands from all over the world, and played at some cool venues. The panel discussions were really informative and honest. We loved playing Indie Week. The event was really well organized and ran smoothly. The sound technicians knew what they were doing and worked hard with the bands to get the best sound possible. Really good vibe.
Playdeaf
(Toronto) Tight ship operation. That basically sums it up as far as I'm concerned. Darryl and crew were always available and very responsive. ALL the bands were very talented. I would expect nothing less next year!
Adult Film Industry
(Toronto) Very well organized. Great/friendly people to work with. HUGE exposure for our band. Dramatic increase in website hits. The Adult Film Industry would definitely take part in Indie Week again if they'll have us!
Static in the Stars
(Vancouver) This was our second year at Indie Week and each year keeps getting better. The organizers are excellent to work with, the venues, stage managers and sound guys are all awesome and above all, it's a blast! Darryl and crew make sure that the acts maximize their time there and go above and beyond what is expected. We highly recommend this festival and it's only going to keep getting bigger and better. All around it is a well run festival and it introduced us to so many amazing people.
Roymackonkey
(Australia) We had a fantastic time at this festival, we met some great contacts and awesome people. The Crew were very helpful and professional! Being an international act we were given extra shows which made the whole trip an experience to remember. Definitely a great festival to play! We would love to come back.. 5 stars. respect to Darryl, Sarah, Eric, Gary, the whole crew and all the volunteers of Indie Week Toronto! Thanks from roymackonkey.
The North
(Toronto) This festival has grown over the years but this year it really stepped up large when it came to the organization. I'm not gonna lie. Last year we didn't have the best experience at Indie Week and nearly didn't re-apply. But we also realized we'd hope a promoter would give us a second chance if we sucked so we went for it. Let's just say what a great decision that was. Regardless of how we played (making the semi's) this fest was well run with a very friendly and helpful staff. We'll be back!

Background

Based in Toronto, Indie Week is in its 8th year and is a twice-annual music festival that takes place in Ireland each spring and Canada each fall. In Ireland, we seek promising up-and-comers, showcase them before industry, and bring the best home with us for Indie Week Canada 2011. The Canadian festival showcases 160+ acts over 4 nights, and in 2010, bands from a total of 10 countries were involved. The focus of the festival is to showcase emerging indie acts while opening the doors to foreign markets. Indie Week Canada has hosted an Irish showcase for 3 years, always to a sold out crowd. And each year an Irish act has gained Canadian management - not a bad success rate! In Ireland the festival is growing and we aim to expand to a similar format. This is a great event for industry and artists alike. We'd love to meet you, so please RSVP to our VIP Guest List to see what we're about!

Guerilla Remote

Guerrilla Remote is a rock and roll event capturing remote recording/filming vehicle. Find Guerrilla Remote @ Facebook We record audio 24 track separated and film live shows with multiple cameras in HD. Our goal is to supply live bands with a timeless document that captures the incredible energy of their live performance and of the audience. Guerrilla Remote uses audience mics and will shoot interview footage if requested and will either give the band the raw footage for a fee or will make an arrangement to mix and deliver a final product live DVD. Guerrilla Remote encourages bands that are "on fire" to take advantage of this service as the chance of producing a killer DVD LIVE @ INDIE WEEK Toronto Canada 2010 is way higher if the band is in excellent live shape. The cost of raw audio/film footage per 30 min set is $300. The cost for filming and recording an in depth interview is $50 If the band chooses to edit/mix/sync their footage themselves then they need to supply GR with access to a hard drive and GR will download it to them post show. The cost of creating a final DVD is based on how many songs a band wants mixed and synced. Typically Guerrilla Remote will mix and sync a full live show @ Exeter Sound Studios for $3000. A fraction of a studio recording.
