Steve York[/dcs_fancy_header]
Steve York is a Canadian singer-songwriter and roots rock artist. He is lead vocalist of the indie group Mercy Flight and host of the ever-popular Freefall Sundays at Supermarket in Toronto’s Kensington Market. Steve started fronting and playing keyboards in many bands, such as SST, The Shoes, and The Pinch. “Mercy Flight is the natural outcome of Free F’all”, says York. “The nights inspired free flowing collaborations which formed the heart of the band: a love of shared music.” Mercy Flight provides “an experience, not a performance” in which its host of talented members “celebrate sonic unity in a divided world.”

Born in the First Nations village of Bella Bella, BC and raised in Toronto, Steve started to perform live and on radio in his teens. His father was a minister whose sense of mysticism and community formed an early influence. As a solo artist, Steve often supports charities with his shows. Known for his unusual compositions and distinctive melodies, York also plays blues harp, piano, guitar, violin and horns.

Julian Taylor[/dcs_fancy_header]
Julian Taylor is an award winning Canadian Singer-Songwriter. He began playing and performing music when he was four years old. A truly gifted performer Julian seems to be in his element when he is up on stage-where is natural charisma and musicality thrives. In 1999 his former band Toronto based Staggered Crossing was signed to a publishing deal with The Music Publisher while he was still in high school. That deal led to the band getting signed to Warner Music Canada the next year. The band released their self-titled debut record in 2001 when Taylor was 22 years old. That album spawned the hits Further Again and A Million Works of Art as well as a COCA Award for Best Contemporary Recording. The band parted ways with Warner later that year but continued to make music and released two more albums independently. The band folded in 2006.
In 2003 Taylor co-founded Bent Penny Records- A Toronto based indie label dedicated to helping independent artist like himself. Bent Penny was instrumental in breaking artists, including Juno Award Nominee Suzie McNeil, indie rock band Hello Beautiful and Canadian Smooth Jazz Award Nominee Julie Crochetiere. In August 2010 Taylor sold his majority share in the company and today continues to act as a consultant.

Taylor has toured across the country a handful of times and has shared the stage with such world-renowned acts like Nickleback, Jeff Healy, Midnight Oil, Collective Soul, Blue Rodeo and many others. He was personally invited to perform at both the 2002 and 2010 Olympic games.
A true music fan, Taylor’s sound is a culmination of every musical genre that has touched him throughout is life. Equal parts troubadour and soul singer, he has a raw emotive and distinct delivery. With his fair share of stories and battle scars from being actively involved in the music industry for the past twenty years he has enjoyed the rewarding successes that come from witnessing a lifelong dream blossom into fruition. In short, there aren’t too many parts on the music business that Taylor hasn’t been involved in. These days he puts all of his experience and talent into being a dynamic solo performer and front man of the new band that bears his name. He released his debut solo album Blank Tape Levy in 2009 and is hard at work recording a follow up solo album and release with his band.
